HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY - Prayer Ministry Email

May 2008

Thank you for your willingness to pray for the ministry of Huntington University!

End of Spring Semester
Finals week begins on Monday, May 12, 2008. Graduation is on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Pray that our graduates will enjoy their special day and that they will seek God's direction as they serve Him in their chosen profession.

Academic Staff
Pray that God will guide the selection of new faculty and adjunct faculty which are needed for next year.

Please pray that our new faculty will make a smooth transition to Huntington. Some have houses that need to sell and children will need to adjust to new schools and new friends.

Capital Campaign

Pray that God will prepare individuals to be open and willing to participate.  Pray for the Advancement staff as they prepare for the capital campaign. More of the early proposals of the "Leadership Phase" of the campaign will be presented this month. Pray that we continue to have a good start to the campaign.

Livingston Hall Construction
Thank God for the nicer weather! The building is under roof and most of the bricks are on the outside. Continue to pray for the safety of the workers.

Summer Drama Troupe
"Godspell" has been selected as the summer production. Pray for our staff as we make contacts relating to the summer tour schedule. Pray that God will open the opportunities where He wants the gospel communicated through the "Godspell" production.

Admissions Staff
We ask for prayer as we start the process of seeking a replacement for the admissions counselor position in our undergraduate office.  There are also two searches going on in the area of retention that would be great things to lift up in prayer.  One is to fill the existing position of Director of First Year Experience and Volunteer Service while the second is the new position of Managing Director of Retention and Student Success.

Stewardship Training Offered to Local Churches
Paul Hirschy is offering the "Good Sense" stewardship training produced by the Willow Creek Association to local churches as a service of Huntington University. Pray that local churches will see this as an opportunity to help their people gain some insight into what it means to be a good steward of all that God has entrusted to them.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:4-6)
